CLEAN AND COZY IN TAHOE CITY!

This recently renovated modified A-Frame is a Tahoe classic. Cabin is located at the top of Talmont Park near Page Meadows on Tahoe’s pristine West Shore! The property is surrounded by hiking trails and secluded in nature away from the hustle and bustle of town but less than 10 minutes to Tahoe City.

The main living area take up the bottom level of the cabin with a modern kitchen and spacious living area. Updated appliances and recently renovated makes this Tahoe cabin a desirable one! There’s also a wrap-around deck with grill and patio seating for summer dining. The living room boasts vintage 1960s wood burning fireplace and a plush and comfy sectional sofa to lounge on while streaming your favorite show on the SMART TV. There’s dining for 5 at the table near the kitchen and another 2 at the breakfast bar. The laundry and first of 2 bathrooms is also on this floor.

When you go up the spiral staircase to the second floor you will encounter two bedrooms off to your left and two more bedrooms off to your right as well as a 2nd full bathroom with shower. The first two bedrooms house single beds with a bunk bed in the first room and a single twin in the 2nd. The 2 bedrooms on the adjacent side of the upper floor both boast queen beds.

The property has internet as well as a large flat screen to enjoy your down time after a long time playing in the Basin! In the summer months there is a gas grill for you to enjoy cooking up a great meal on the deck. Come and stay at this tranquil property and see all that Lake Tahoe has to offer! Cabin is a member of the desirable Lake Tahoe Park Association just a short drive down to the Lake by Sunnyside. The association provides for a private, clean beach, lake front picnic area, play ground, horseshoes, Bocce ball and more!

This was a great place to stay. For a family of five it was spacious and clean. We enjoyed cool nights on the wrap around deck and easy access to the lake ( private membership) during the day. We look to booking this place again!

The Good, The (Very Little) Bad, but No Ugly!

I will start by saying this cabin is in an excellent quiet neighborhood. So if you desire a party house, go elsewhere. The high-end neighbors will not appreciate it. We stayed from July 21, 2020 to August 3, 2020. It is a very dog-friendly areas but bears did visit at least 3 nights. They opened our unlocked car door but found nothing and did no damage. Do not leave any food in your car and lock your doors. The downstairs great room is really spacious but the best is the patio with BBQ. I worked there in the mornings looking out over the beautiful trees. If you have to work, there is no better office. Bring some folding beach chairs and some beach umbrellas to use for the hour of bright sun in the morning because they only have two chairs for the patio table and two adirondacks (my bro-in-law found the adirondacks comfortable but I did not). And, we did not know it but the cabin comes with keys to a private beach that allows dogs from 8-10 in the morning. You will meet so many great people with some great dogs. It was a huge unexpected bonus. And, if you like hanging at the beach, it gets no better than this one. Here are some drawbacks but NOT any deal breakers. The bathroom situation is unfortunate. There is no master suite and only one teeny tiny bathroom upstairs to be used by people in 4 bedrooms. There is another full bathroom downstairs but no bedroom downstairs. The built in dresser in the "master" bedroom has drawers that are not on tracks and a nightstand blocking part of them so basically unusable and the small closet is locked. (Hopefully the owners will fix this before you stay.) The lighting was very dim throughout and it made for a cave-like atmosphere so we bought all new lights and it was much better. We had to buy a night light for the bathroom upstairs because it was so dark at night. (Lucky you, you receive the benefit of our purchases. We also bought a metal scrubber for the BBQ and brush to apply BBQ sauce.) The kitchen did not have enough dishes so we were running the dishwasher way too often. So we went to the Pass It On Thrift Store in Tahoe City and bought bowls and coffee cups. (Again, lucky you coming in after us.) Other than that, kitchen was pretty well stocked. That is the end of the slightly bad. Now back to more good. Parking is ample, privacy is excellent, and the cabin was really clean. Towels were plentiful and plush. Furniture is still in pretty good shape, although the sectional couch comes apart quite easily. Shades are awesome! You just gently pull down and gently push up. Internet worked fantastic and Verizon phones worked pretty good on the patio but not inside the house. We plan to return next year, so please respect the cabin as if it is your own.

Quiet Refuge in the Hills Above Lake Tahoe

At first, we were a bit disappointed as we drove up and up the mountain to property. From the description we thought "beach access" meant close to the lake. Although there is access to a really nice private beach facility, it's a five minute drive, but definitely not within walking or biking distance. Turned out this was a blessing. The location is so quiet and peaceful. Just a couple hundred yards away is a trail head to an exquisite alpine meadow and connection to the Tahoe Rim trail is a couple hundred yards away. As for the place itself, we loved it! Super clean, immaculate condition. Relaxing patio looking out into the forest. Before we left we were already planning our return.

Our weekend was so amazing, the cabin was clean and cozy with everything we needed for a great trip. I traveled with my dog who enjoyed the numerous accessible walks - the location is perfect. A five minute or so stroll to Paige meadows , a half hour trek to the private access beach, all without having to drive anywhere. The hosts were extremely communicative and flexible. We will definitely be returning.
